About
The project is about sharing mobile provider data and earning money from it — useful in places where internet connection is difficult to get or unavailable: tourist spots, urban canyons, etc.
Challenge
The product required geo-mapping, reviewing, and limiting services — a novel concept at the time. The app required sensitive permissions from users: location access and hotspot settings, which needed careful user education.
Result
Designed the app for both iOS and Android. The main flow was tested through remote usability testing conducted via a translator, and usability fixes were implemented.
Onboarding
After registration, users see onboarding screens displaying the three main features: share data, connect to others, and earn money. At the last step, users can select whether to share data or connect to a hotspot.
Data Sharing Setup
If a user wants to share data, they need to set up their hotspot first. The design challenge was teaching users how to set up and retrieve the information needed to share data.
Map & Discovery
When users want to connect to data sharing, they see hotspots nearby with their status and rating. Users can connect through the list or by selecting directly on the map.
Empty States
For emotional and educational purposes, empty states were thoughtfully designed with custom illustrations.
